Vision Therapy in Mount Pleasant

Clear vision is about more than just seeing the bottom line on an eye chart; it’s about how your eyes and brain coordinate. Vision therapy is a customized, non-surgical approach to treating visual challenges that glasses alone cannot fix. Whether it’s a child struggling to read or an adult recovering from an injury, we provide "physical therapy for the eyes" to improve performance, comfort, and confidence.

BEYOND 20/20 VISION

Strengthening the Brain-Eye Connection

A person can have 20/20 vision and still struggle with how their eyes work together. When the eyes don’t track smoothly across a page or have difficulty coordinating, reading can feel exhausting, focus can suffer, and everyday visual tasks become more challenging. Vision therapy is designed to improve how the eyes and brain work together at any age. For children, this can mean better focus, attention, and improved performance in school or sports. For adults, it can lead to greater comfort, coordination, and visual efficiency in daily life. Through customized, evidence-based exercises, we help strengthen tracking, focusing, and visual processing, building the skills needed for clearer, more comfortable vision and greater confidence in everyday activities.

Neuro-Visual Rehabilitation

When the brain experiences a concussion, stroke, or traumatic brain injury (TBI), the visual system is often the first to be disrupted. Our neuro-visual rehabilitation program focuses on the complex relationship between the eyes and the neurological system. By using specialized prisms, filters, and targeted neuro-optometric exercises, we help "re-train" the brain to process visual information accurately again.

Sensorimotor Evaluations

A standard eye exam tells us what you see, but a sensorimotor exam tells us how you see. During this in-depth assessment, we measure the physical coordination of the eye muscles, the brain’s ability to fuse two images into a single image, and the efficiency of your visual tracking and focusing systems. By mapping these sensorimotor pathways, we can pinpoint exactly where the "mismatch" occurs. It’s this clinical precision that allows our team to build a roadmap for your success.

BOOK AN EYE EXAM

Whether your child is struggling in the classroom or you’re noticing changes in your own visual comfort or focus, you don’t have to settle for “just okay” vision. The first step is a comprehensive eye exam, during which we can evaluate your visual system and determine whether vision therapy may be beneficial. From there, our team will guide you through the next steps in your care.
